Dear Calphurnia,

         I do not know what to do. I can’t seem to have a truthful and honest husband anymore. Brutus is really worried about something lately and just want tell me anything. His excuse for getting up in the middle of the night was that he was ill but here is what doesn’t make sense he knows what to do when he is sick. He vowed that he loved me and wouldn’t lie to me didn’t he? I don’t get it sometimes. Yes, I am a women but I am his wife I deserve to know, I just want to help him and keep him safe. Calphurnia please help me something is very wrong with my Brutus. Help me Calphurnia what should I do? Is this happening to you too.

Dear Portia,

   I know how you feel. Caesar is totally being rude. A couple of days ago I had a nightmare about how Caesar was Murdered and I told him and asked him not to go into work today but he was   convinced otherwise and pretty much explained that the reason he couldn’t go in was that I was crazy. There is something wrong with brutus im sure but he might be keeping it from you for your safety remember that. He loves you we see it but with these new people in town everyone has been on edge girl its not just you. The new guys have a vibe and I believe are causing trouble so keep trying to get through to him maybe you will find out what is wrong and troubling him.

POW3:Snow Apocalypse 2011

Dear Dr. Berry,

                School is Important it really is but is it really necessary to add extra days at the end of the school year? This year we had a huge snowfall that affected the whole Midwest and most states in the area were under a state of Emergency. We only have four snow days a year, this school year we used all of the snow days plus two more and the district is thinking about making up those snow days at the end of the year. We should not have the extended school days at the end of the year because of money issues and summer projects.

                Some people might be saying we should make up the school for our recommended days we need to be in school. Others might say we need to make it up because we missed those two days and that we should make it up. While this actually might be very true it’s actually very bad for the district, and the economy.

                Choosing to not go those extra days would save a lot of money. According to the Olathe School district website the state of Kansas pays the school district but the last couple Quarters of payment they haven’t been able to supply the money to the district, which makes the School District go into debt with the state. Opening up schools for these extra days would just cost more money, which obviously we don’t have. The money we use to stay in school for a couple of days could possibly pay off some of our debt to the state. Money is tight for school districts, teachers, bus drivers, etc. Money that would be used to pay all these people is well very low at this point in time and making up these days we would just lose that much more money. We are not the only districts in debt to the state so by not having these couple of extra days we would save more money for our schools. The money that the school districts save is used for paying faculty on the most part and you don’t have much extra to use on the other items.

                Projects, construction, summer school, Camps, est. are all stuff that start when school is over. The recent construction on the high schools were designed to accommodate the freshmen started right when school ended. School projects like this that have a dead line usually don’t end up getting finished to the day before so extending the school days would case the workers to take risks to move faster and make a lot more mistakes then they would normally. The longer construction goes on the less time staff has to prepare for the upcoming school year ahead. Preparation for Summer School starts after regular school ends because some teachers have to teach a class starting the first week of June. Yes, Summer School no matter what happens will start the first Monday in June but teachers I’m sure would love to be more prepared for it. Some districts do know kids would like to have a break and yes we should let them have at least a week long break to relax not forget but relax before they have to start again with more learning. Everything during summer that happens is important and not adding the two days just makes your life that much easier and less stressful.

                There may be many reasons why we should extend school for those two days I fully understand but there are also many reasons why we should go. School shouldn’t be extended those extra days because the outrageous costs and the stress of the summer projects that need to start right after.
